The purpose of the zoning code is to promote & protect the public health, safety and general welfare through regulation of the use of land and structures in accordance with an approved comprehensive plan. Any land development or building construction must be checked to assure compliance with the zoning code. Unique circumstances preventing full compliance with the code require submission and approval of supplemental information through the Board of Zoning Appeals and/or Planning Commission (e.g.- conditional use permits, variances, planned unit residential developments, etc.). Copies of the Zoning Code and Map are available in the office of the City Engineer.
