         CROSS
ROADS

HONORING  THOSE WE'VE LOST ALONG OUR NATION'S ROADSIDES,
THEIR MEMORIALS AND THEIR STORIES
.........

      Our thanks to you for visiting AMERICA'S CROSSROADS.  Our goal is to bring attention to those who have tragically lost their lives along the roadways of America.  We'll try to tell what we know of their stories and share their roadside monuments with you.  They range from those with lengthy history and informative obituaries to those of the unknown.  We hope you'll share any information you might have about monuments you see pictured here.  We would also gladly accept any pictures and information of monuments you would like us to share.  We hope you'll visit often as we gather and update          AMERICA'S CROSSROADS.

"DESCANSO"...a word given to a roadside memorial at the site where a person was killed...usually from a motor vehicle accident.  It's typically marked with a cross, the person's name, usually the date of birth and/or death and, often, decorated with momentos of the person's life.

 When I heard the crash on the highway,
                         I knew what it was from the start;
                         I went to the scene of destruction

                         A picture was stamped on my heart

The words "Fat Boy" and "Ride Free" are written on it. We also found a student ID attached to it. The student's last name is Newton.
